My Personal Story - Why I Founded NIRMAKO
What Shaped My Calling
I'm Nir Makovsky, founder and CEO of NIRMAKO. My journey into business coaching started from a painful personal tragedy that shaped my life and vision. Specifically, two events left an indelible mark on me.
And the most painful irony? Four years earlier, I worked at an Israeli medical company that developed revolutionary medical imaging technology. It could have helped doctors make more accurate and faster diagnoses. Ultimately, our product could have saved my father's life.
Why Leaders Shouldn’t Be Alone
The company closed in 2008—not because the technology wasn’t good, but because of management mistakes. The product was excellent, and the market need was clear. However, the leadership had no support system and no objective perspective to challenge critical decisions.
This dual journey—losing my father to medical error and seeing the closure of a company that could have prevented such errors—led me to one conclusion: business owners and CEOs shouldn't be alone. They need a community of peers and tools to make better decisions.
When I discovered TAB - The Alternative Board, I realized this was exactly the system that could have helped managers identify mistakes before they happened. That’s why I decided to bring TAB to Israel and establish NIRMAKO.
Today, I'm a TAB-certified business coach with 20 years of experience in senior management and leading projects in companies and startups like Lumenis and Philips.
My approach is based on simplicity, planning, and personal guidance. I connect personal and business vision and focus on practical implementation.

First Month - Complete Profiling
Comprehensive mapping of your business, setting goals for the coming year and planning for the first 3 months. Using tools like Blueprint and ValueBuilder to deeply understand your starting point.
2 in-depth working meetings to define clear and measurable goals.
Selecting the Right Board
At the end of the first month, we match you to the board that fits best. Each board includes CEOs and owners from different fields who don’t compete with each other.
First 3 Months - Performance Guarantee
The first stage includes a performance guarantee. During this period, you join monthly board meetings and personal coaching sessions. If at the end of 3 months you're not satisfied—you don't pay.
Monthly Board Meetings
Each board meeting is 4 hours of intensive work. Meetings are held in person, either at a fixed location or hosted by a board member.
Structure of each meeting:
